Tire rub

    I'm looking for some insight; on my '75 CJ-5 I mounted a set of OEM 16-inch wheels with 7.50-16LT tires (32-inch) and I have a 4-inch lift. When I make a left turn, the left front tire rubs on the spring. It does not rub when I turn right and the 33x12.50's mounted previously did not rub either. Anyone please have a theory as to why?

    Have you tried adjusting the steering stop ? it's easy just find the stop bolts behind the hub and screw in or out.

    X2 - tire rub is pretty common. I have it with 32's on 7" wheels. Your previous wheels might have had different backspacing.

    I may try adjusting the stop; I just thought it was strange that it would rub one side and not the other. Could it be that it an adjustment is off to make it turn sharper one than the other?

    Probably. Or there could be some other minor thing putting the axle ever so slightly off center, or possibly the steering just goes further in one direction than the other.

    Old Jeeps aren't exactly precision instruments...;)

    Sounds like backspacing is too deep. Try adjusting the stop bolts, and consider quality wheel spacers from SpyderTrax or others.
