I found a 71 Jeepster being parted out and planned on getting the tranny, the owner wants to sale the whole thing, 1. I was wondering what other parts can be used on a 70 cj. 2. Are the axles the same width? what else can I use off of it? 3. what transfer case did it use?

'71 Jeepster will have Saginaw steering, which could be useful if you want to convert your CJ. Not the same as the CJ's Ross steering though.

Transfer case is different (a Dana 20 v. your Dana 18), and rear axle won't fit. Front axle would fit if the ratio is right. Engine would be fine, and the 3-speed manual transmission will be the same.

Front clip can be made to fit, but it will look different.

Nor sure if the front D27 will work as spring packs on '71 Jeepsters are wider than the earlier models and CJs. Brian
