11 inch brakes v. stock rims

    Steamer Thick and gritty!

    Going through the 11 inch brake conversion writeups from the tech section, I missed seeing any note regarding the interference between big drums and stock rims. It might be handy for newbies to be forewarned about that. Sometime this year I expect to convert my 70, and still have not nailed what rims I want to be watching for. Aftermarket versus "stock", and so on. I'm leaning toward 15 x 8 steel, but not sure how easy that will be to pick up around here, without buying new replacements from John Doe's Tire and Wheel Store.

    Just a thought.
