mine is similar to that, but the turn signal indicators are pushed out about a 1/4 inch and the numbers are different.

the high beam indicator is on the right and is just a blue light, no writing next to it

it has 3 sockets to iluminate the speedo

and 2 red squares on either side, one says BRAKE and the other says drive brake, or somthing like that

different temp and fuel gauge, but the speedo needle looks to be the same

    No problem Sparky :).

But remember- The "Search" Function Is Your Friend, I highly recommend that you use it from now on for questions like these:twisted:

Evan, the temp gauge will be the internally the same as a later "orange" S/W unit, you can swap the face plates to keep the white dots & paint the needle. The gas gauge will be a bit more difficult but if you don't mind hacking the speedo case a bit you can put in a later three terminal (internal regulator) gauge (& swap the face plates).

Wow, I really like those early '50's speedos with the Willys script on them. Wouldn't be correct for my '62, but sure does look a lot better or more interesting than the plain vanilla one I have! I wish they still sold those face plates - or that there was some way to reproduce them accurately.

mine looks like ghosts and mine was made in may of 1970. it was allways a joke and the first thing most people noticed was the speedo. haha this thing only goes to 9 MPH

Ading my 2 cents to this. Was there aftermarket speedos in the 50s and 60s that could have been swapped in? Any advertising or memories to indicate the aftermarket provided replacement speedos back in the day?

I have a very interesting speedo. I have a 69 CJ-5 and I bought this one off of Ebay. It was new and in military type sealed wrapping. I wish I had bought two. It has the 1-9 on it just like the factory gauge but over by the 1,2 and 3 is a shift scale for low and hi range. It's very cool and I have not ever seen anything like it before. It works perfectly being new but I'm not sure what it was factory for. I can post a pic if anybody wants to see it. Possibly military??

Thats definitely not a speedo that belongs in a '55, the correct unit is the one shown earlier in the thread with the silver face & the "Willys" script.

Figure I might as well make an appearance on this topic. I gots the KS, silver face, red dial, Willys script. Howie and Brian P seems to meez to have the correct ens as well. On the other issues, I know there are many Km speedos out there coming from over seas, even possibly repros in MPH that are completely different. The 3B's also used the KS speedos that weez have.:):flag:
