Have you got a truck with a winch and a snatch block?
    that could do the trick
Or rig up a hi lift jack thats how I move mine by myself

    Ben Who?

Nice to see progress. I'd definitely put a raised hitch on the ZJ, I did the same on my XJ when I mocked the towbar and I've since gotten air shocks too for weight considerations.

Glad to see you're getting some work done!

    Was it a straight backup?

I've been able to do short backups when I could get the car and Jeep straight then just push it backwards. It's when I've had to do any steering or find an angle that's been tough/not possible. In a pinch I've put MsBoyink in the Jeep and had her steer.

Progress has ground to a halt again. Just heard about my rad from summit. Now it won't be here till mid October. I am thinking about canceling the order and going someplace else  That would make for a more then 2 month time from when I order it to when I get it. Front bumper is off and cleaned up along with some boxing removed. Right now I am just disguessed with the whole rad thing.

Make that early October.... ITS HERE! I heard the UPS guy coming up the street and I ran outside to intercept him with my package. He is not my old guy( who happens to be my guy at my work now; how weird) so he didn't know I have a tendency to do things like that.

I quick put it up against my grill. Going to need to make some mods to fit it but oh well it is much larger then the original so cooling should not be an issue, but heating might. I guess I know what I am doing my next few days off.

Thats some good news!!!! Hope ya have it running soon.

Ive asked myself as to why youve been so gun ho on getting your Jeep running, its like all of a sudden you have found the time, is it because all the rivers and lakes are to dry to go fly fishing.lolR)......you know I had to pick on ya!

    Now get to work!!:)

Well I am a saltwater guy and there is still plenty of water in the ocean. But you are right, there is no water in the state right now, the James is crazy low right now. No real reason for the sudden interest. Tomorrow morning I am going to really try and mock up the rad instead up just putting it up and saying it is good.

 Bad news. Guess I am sending the rad back. It won't fit the side tanks are almost touching the framerails any twisting of the frame and I will crack the plastic I fear. Well all that waiting and I think I will be getting a Yota rad anyway

jeepfreak81 When in Doubt, Pedal out!

Not even close to straight, I dragged it out of one driveway and had to back up, around a 45*-90* corner and into the other drive. I got it 90% done and a car came down the road and I tried to go too fast and saw the front wheels on the jeep start to move a bit... I got out kicked them where I needed them and finished the back up.

Well the other day I decided to do some cosmetic work instead of mechanical to make me feel like I am making progress.
This is what I came up with

Chia almost looks like a whole Jeep again :D The hook is not attached neither is the grill.

Why'd you do it then? Bolt that stuff down and you'll have an incentive to fix your rusty tub and get on with it!

No, I havent worked on mine lately so dont ask.

Edit: Sorry for being harsh - it looks good. If you think like me, this will give you a stronger desire to finish it.

It is funny how putting 6 bolts in can make a vehicle look 1.8trillion times better.

I would get to work fixing the body but this sudden rain is killing me can't work on the Jeep can't fish.

Oh yeah Ben I didn't bolt the hood down because I know where the hinges are just can't get to them and the grill because I need to do some serious bodywork to that before I go bolting it to anything.

Jeff, it's your build, of course, but why not just get some primer and tractor paint, shoot it on as a corrosion preventative, get a used radiator from a member here, and start driving it? Looks like you've got a fairly whole JEEP there, prolly wouldn't take much.

It is amazing what pictures can show and not show. The amount of waves in the sheetmetal is horrid( all caused by my learning to weld on the body). I am not looking for perfect but i don't want " look at that horrible bodywork why not just make it look ok and be done with it"
Been trying to do some work here and there when I have time, but with work, required trips, and school starting up time has been well not there.

Motor brackets showed up today. Hopefully next week I will have some time to work on Chia. Work has slowed down so while I am in that strange situation of having some money and having time I am going to try to capitalize before the weather turns nasty again.
So no I have not forgotten about my JEEP.
