    Hi Everyone,
Finally got around to tearing down the 225 V-6 in my 71 Commando and found several problems. I have a lifter that was stuck and not turning which has worn the rocker arm out and needs replacing. Can I buy a single rocker arm or would you guys recommend replacing the entire rocker assembly??? Where can I find the parts??? All the other rockers look fine........next...
I plan to use this Commando to go to the deer lease and tool around town, no oversized tires just good ground grips so what would be my best cam choice??? A friend told me to order an R/V cam for it, this is new ground for me so I dont really know what would work best for my intended use. I would like it to have a little more power than it had but still want the engine to run nice and quite like it did before the Ting Ting started.
I will have to wait until the machine shop get through with the block to order the rebuild kit. Yes it was bad news on the cylinders, all were in good shape and could of been only lightly honed but the rear left (driver side) it is worn pretty bad and will have to be bored, so much for the cheap rebuild kit:cry:
Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated now while I wait for the block and heads to come back from the machine shop.
    Thanks

First, welcome from the Kansas Flinthills!

Second, in my pile-o-parts I have a couple spare rocker arm shafts. I could remove a rocker arm and send it your way.

Third, I just put a new cam in my 225. The Comp Cams 252H. Good low end torque, not much else changed in driveability. I ordered the complete kit which included a timing chain. Didn't need it, but now I've got a spare. ;) http://earlycj5.com/tech/engines/225/225_cam_numbers.shtml

    HTH!
