OK, I've read what I can, but where can I get just a replacement shackle for my M38? I'm adding the lift, and need to fab some up, or buy some. Fabbing would probably be easier and quicker, but then I wouldn't have bushings for them. So maybe buying is easier. Anyway, anyone purchased them lately? not looking for anymore lift.
    Thanks

Actuall fabbing them yourself wont require bushings.th ebushings stay in the springs. you are just replaceing the side peices of the shackle and th bolts. Easier than you think :)

Unless Brannon still has the C style shackles. Anyway, Walck's is always my first choice.

I am replacing the 'C' style shackle so I will need more than just side plates. I need bushings for the frame mount, and then a shakle and hardware. I can make the shakle easy, just have to come up w/ bushings.

Bushings are stock 55-71 CJ5 available at any of the lift kit suppliers in the Magazines.

While you're at it, JC Whitney has the ConFerr ubolt Skid plates on Clearance as well. Con-Ferr has gone out of business.

I just bought two sets of bushings from Garry's Automotive on ebay. He will order what ever you need. Twelve bushings with sleeves for $30 shipped. He is a very fast shipper. 2 days from payment and the mail man was handing them to me. Tell him you need the same thing Matthew Shockley bought. You will have some extras left over if your springs cam with any bushings. Mine came with only 4 bushings.

Also don't forget your local 4x4 shop. I am lucky have one that speciallizes in Jeeps about 2 miles down the street. Unfortunatly their prices are double on almost everything. But you can't beat the service.

I don't know, http://www.conferr.com/ Offroad unlimited is producing their roof racks now or at least the web site tells you something about them.

These guys have been around since the early 60's.

Probably getting hard to compete with the corporations. They were the only ones that made shackles for Jeeps and Land Cruisers, now everybody makes them.

They are still the best in my opinion.

Are those for the 1&3/4 wide flatty springs? Did they come with bushings for the frame side? thanks

Yep. They're for flatties and early CJ's. They have shackles for most other Jeep applications too. I saw their products on ebay and their feedback was A+. They're selling tons of shackles there, but you can get them cheapest by ordering direct from their website. I had mine in less than a week and they didn't gouge me on shipping. Communication was super!
No bushings included, but I see they do sell several types on their site.

I have MORE's on my CJ-7 and like them, but they are like $65 per pair and I agree they might look big on the 2A. I spoke to them on the phone yesterday and they confirmed they do make sets for the narrow spring early CJ's. They also would provide 3/4" of lift which could be a good or bad thing depending on your needs. I ended up going with stock style for $11.50 from Northstarwillys, we will see how long they last.

i had more's. i liked them a lot. extremely rugged. they advertise a 3/4" lift over stock but it seemed as though it was more than that.

i just sold them. i replaced them with the HD kragge (with a center brace) much less lift. like them a lot also. very solid. i'm not gonna bang zed over boulders at 20mph.

i originally didn't want any lift from my shackles at all. just the 1" from my rancho leafs.

probably would have kept them around just in case, if i didn't need the cash for the cj fund. if i were building a crawler i would definitely get them again. but for now they are overkill for me.
