Early Warn M8000

I picked up this Warn Belleview type winch and was wondering if anyone knew the production dates? I know it's pre '74 and after they stopped using the Belleview name but that's it. I believe they changed the name pretty quick to 5687

 

My 5721 and all the other 5721'a I've seen have stick-on data "plates. I bought that new in 1972 and there was at least one model between the 5721 and the M8000. My best guess is early-mid 60's. I think the Belleview name was gone by 1960.

Buyers makes some heavy duty cables that are reasonably priced. The light duty versions don't usually last long on that application.

 

Look for PTO cable with plastic housing

 

Here's what I bought for my Belleview;

from Mil Supply company p/n # 17-310 one 10ft long for ease of routing and an 8ft cable too. Two Bowden pins too. On my 3B I ordered two two 8ft cables and two Bowden pins p/n 6138

I read on Warns page that the 5687 was made in 1973
