Herm’s Manual Steering

I Updated the steering in a clients 1960 CJ5. The process went really smooth and I thought I would share some pictures of the finished install.
The biggest problem with the kit is the radiator issues the new steering box causes. I used a radiator from a Suzuki samurai and modified a rad hose from a mid 2000’s Chevy truck with a 5.3 LS.
I did have to remove the manual fan and replaced it with a electric fan with fan control. I know some people have a problem with this but it works great for this rig and my personal CJ5. With the gain in HP from the fan removal the f134 feels like it has a little extra get up and go.
I also added front disc brakes and couldn’t pass up adding one of Herm’s overdrives.
