Does anyone know for certain that the rear spring bushings, the ones that are mounted to the frame, are the same size as the bushings that go in the springs?
I had some NOS spring bushings in the garage and decided to mount them on the rear springs while I have the jeep stripped down to the bare frame. I got the bushing removed from one spring end, can't tell you how much fun that is. After I installed the new bushing into the spring end, I decided to cut the one out of the frame mount and replace it also since I had one left. I started to cut it out and just on a whim, checked the diameter of the old bushing to the new bushing. The old one in the frame looks like it's a fraction bigger around. I stopped there and thought I had better do some research. I replaced the ones on the front springs last year some time but I can't remember if I changed all of them or just on the spring ends. Thanks.

Thanks, I suspected they were, just wanted to get a second opinion before I replace them.

    nickmil In mothballs.

Knowing what year and model you are working on would be helpful to know in the future.
‘55-‘75 CJ uses the same bushings in the springs and frame spring mounts.
