I have rewired my Jeep. This yielded me I would guess 3 different tries to rewire it on the cheap. A collection of relays, switches and ample amounts of trailer lighting harness. I do not have the correct switch for the hazards (3PST). But I did end up with 3 relays and a functional toggle switch. I created the attached circuit which is working well. You could do the same thing with diodes I suppose but I had been gifted the above items so this is what I did. But this does allow you to pick a switch that looks correct if you can't find the stock one. Anyway, here you all go.

If you are missing a switch, there are plenty of options available from the electronics suppliers. I went to Mouser and selected 3PST,3PDT, 4PST and 4PDT panel mount switches that are in stock. I got 273 results. This is not too many to sort through, though I typically sort my results by cost and start with the cheapest.

Digikey is also popular with DIY buyers. Both Mouser and Digikey handle small orders well, though only Digikey will ship free and then only by mail. You must include full payment with your mail order.

I have a hazard light switch which came out of a 67 CJ5. Don't know if it is stock or aftermarket but everything else on that Jeep was stock. It is a push pull switch with a red light in the handle. Don't know if it works, but it probably does. Yours for the postage if you want to try it.

Thanks for the offer. My 71 is going to be “stock” but far from a resto. If I can get it to work for now it’s move on to the next thing.

The one I have was mounted under the dash, next to the E-brake handle, which is why I don't know if it is stock or aftermarket.

Probably not stock, I don't think '67 had one. Someone on here will know for sure.

I hope hitch-hiking on one post is not frowned upon if the subject matter is similar. If so, would someone advise me?

This was on a 1962 I am working on and it was in the dash hole meant for vacuum line to the wipers. There are no other holes to the left of the steering column so I am guessing the dash is correct. Would this have been for a later model that had three controls to the left of the steering column? Or is it correct for a 1962 and just installed in the wrong space? None of my simple resources show a flasher in an early CJ. Thanks.

It is stamped Cole Boston USA in a circle and PA APP above SW-8261 on one side.

I’ll take it if no one else needs it if it looks like the one Fireball posted

It isn't like that one, but you can take a look when you come after the TC, if you want it you can have it.

Glenn, you're correct that '67s did not have the factory hazard light switch.

My 5 came with one of the old all metal Signal-Stat switches. It includes a hazard function and wasn't very hard to clean and wire into my new harness.

You can still buy them through Truck-Lite.

I have one of those in mine also. It's a nice switch. Feels much better than the stock type
