Mark, congratulations. I know it's been a long haul and I know you have more plans in the works but this is a real milestone. So happy for you to get to drive it. Have to get together and take a little cruise some day. mike

    Desertdog48 Everybody's crazy...it just shows up different!

Great looking Jeep. Really like the color. Don't those leaks just drive you crazy. I've got 4 on Old Ruby and was super careful on her rebuild. I guess they help undercoat! Enjoy your first show tomorrow!

Oh so now you want secrets!!!!

It is a Grant Steering wheel horn button that originally had some soft plastic insert that said Jeep. The emblem is from the hood spear on a Willys Wagon they sell them as a repop. I then added a thin piece of Micarta around it with some paint trim and glued it in place of the Rubbery Jeep thing.

Thanks. I was wondering if you actually machined a 7/8's diameter recess in the button and was scratching my head as to how one would chuck that up. Maybe hot glue it on an arbor? I have a couple of the repoped emblems and I too had a Grant "Jeep" horn button. This is on my 3B project.

I must say 117 pages of post is a little intimidating----

Yea I would like to go through and edit out a lot of the misdirection and side tracks in my Project thread. But for now I got better things to do. Like figure out how to fix the problems that showed up in the first 45 miles of being back on the road. Some winter day I'll think about trimming up the Thread.
