Electronic Tachometer For Oddfire

    I'm looking to pick up a tachometer for my Dauntless equipped CJ5. I was looking at this one:

    I have a similar model on my 4 cylinder Jeep and really like it (it's the same style, just with 4k RPM range). The catch is that it's some kind of electronic driven system. When you turn off the ignition the needle stays where it was instead of dropping to zero. I'm not sure if this style tach would work with an oddfire ignition. Does anyone have experience?

    How does this get a pulse? For HEI equipped, the one I used just plugged into the distributor tach connector

    I have points ignition. It would connect to the terminal on the ignition coil.

    Read the product description and instructions. Contact the manufacturer. If they don't explicitly say it will work with odd-fire ignition, then don't buy.

    I have that exact tach on my CJ and it works just fine with the Dauntless, either Pertronix or HEI.
