    B3FBF50C-3B8B-469D-962C-F87FAFD5A8D2.jpeg Good morning all!
So I made it this far last night, but still can’t separate the T14 and TC.
I searched this forum and all I came up with is that I am not using enough force. Am I missing anything here, or do I just need to plant my feet and get in there?

Thanks again for all your thoughts!

Shouldn't need much force. There is a bolt on the back side.....make sure you have all the attaching bolts out.

Agreed. Once all the bolts are out, it should almost fall off, unless they used some kind of super adhesive as a gasket.

I just rebuilt both the T14 and dana 20, they came apart quite easily. There is a bolt that sits the bottom half of the transfer case that can be missed.

There is one bolt that can be a bit tricky to find... I also had to use a big hammer and block if wood to separate mine the first time.

My first stop this afternoon is to make sure I didn’t pull a different bolt from the bottom but for now, there is 5 bolts on the bench.
I had to go back to that profane 4 letter word that ends with k today so I won’t be able to get back in to it till this evening.

Thanks, I’ll let you all know what happens next!

Yup, they should just fall apart with a bit of light rubber mallet or hammer/wood block persuasion. I made the mistake of forcing a quadra-trash tcase back together in my J10 pickup...lol. shattered the aluminum case - had to buy a good used unit.

  8. :worry:

they should come apart easily, so long as everything is disconnected. is the shifter disconnected?

Think he not find the one bolt on the other side. Easy to overlook.

You know you need to make a note of the length of the bolt on the back side.
The transfer case does not like one to long.

Good news, I had all 5 correct bolts out.
More good news, it took the finest cold chisel I have to split them.
Better news, the garage reeks of gear oil!
Bad news, I need to come up with a bearing puller!

    Thanks for all the replies!
