1964 Vs 1983 Cj5 Width Of Tub

Could anyone tell me if the tub width of the 64 and 83 cj5 is the same ? Looking for a windjammer
to fit a 64, and only found one to fit an 83. The height don't matter so much as the width..

 

Tub outline is the same. Windshield top width and angle is different, so it won't be the right width at the top.

 

It don't connect to the windshield, only vertical behind the seats. ( 'ties to the roll bar'.) Sounds like it might work.

83 had a factory roll bar, 64 did not. Depending what you have for a roll bar on the 64 it may not fit as intended. Factory roll bar on a 70 renegade is quite different than a factory 83 roll bar.

 

I agree with Zoomer. The factory roll bar in the 80's went all the way to the floor and the aftermarket roll bars in the 60's and 70s were fender mount. I can tell you I tried to put a 79 roll bar in my 63 and it would not fit.

 

Cj2a roll bar fits in an early cj5 width-wise, fyi. Might help widen your search.

i swapped my old bar from my ‘47 to my ‘63-64 and it fit perfectly.
