Other than the cool factor, I'm not sue why anyone would want to pursue a complex electronic application to trigger the oddfire efi fueling when the simple remedy is a crank trigger. Norcal69 appears to be doing this which I believe will address his issues. Others have done this with out issues. As long as you are not trying to control timing there wouldn't be any problem.

Now if you want an all encompassing engine control unit that will do everything you want, there is one available but dig deeply into your pocket. The TEC3R is only $2,499.00.

    Crank trigger = $400 +++ plus installation

Complex electronic application (actually dirt simple electronic application) = ~ $40-$50 --- with plug 'n' play.

Crank sensor = $37.50, With the skills of the members here, they could easily build the bracket for the sensor.

Yup & considering what Holley charges (the sensor alone is $130) I'd certainly encourage that if that's what they want to do but designing, machining & balancing the tone wheel may be a different story.

But this member's skills leads him to think there may be a faster/cheaper alternative :)

The electronics would be the best approach imho.
I am concerned about the delay in processing but even if it could be under the dash and filled with epoxy I would keep a spare with me.

The tone wheel and trigger will be awfully low and exposed to water which isn't normal for most performance vehicles. I expect a little mud will put it back to square one.

Most of the chips I'm looking at have twice as much capacity as needed, I'm thing duplicate the circuitry as much as possible to provide some redundancy.

I just wanted to update my post- I have purchased the sniper 2g master kit for my 68cj5 w/ 225 odd fire .
Couldn’t be happier - Pretty straight forward install. Make sure your HEI distributor is dialed in before installing your sniper.
If I was to do it again I would not get the master kit, I would buy fittings; efi fuel line, pre & post fuel filter & electric fuel somewhere else. Fuel pump is loud as hell.

I’m still dialing in my timing and letting the system learn - jeep fires right up / no more choke n warm up , runs the best it ever had .
Hope this helps and this is just my 2 cents and what Route I decided to go.

Are you using a crank trigger or just the signal from the odd-fire HEI?

No Crank Trigger - just the signal from hei Its a wire that runs to the tach side that reads your RPM's .
I'll try to do a little video over the weekend and try an post it or drop it on you tube whichever one I can figure out 1st ... :)
Either way I'll let you know

Sorry not really a tech person . Still trying to figure out how to get the larger file uploaded, keeps saying it’s to big.

Awesome! I’m curious if you could elaborate some more about why you don’t like the fuel part of the Holley master kit, any other reasons besides the fuel pump being loud?

And also what distributor did you buy that did not work?

& about the Fuel Parts Nothing really to complain about - Only just the fuel pump is loud - I just mentioned you could probably piece it out to save a couple bucks that's all .....

I'm interested to see how it runs once you have the timing set and the computer has a fully learned tune...... Not being negative, I expected better than that when comparing to my Howell setup.
