Bulkhead style airfitting adapters.

I had been looking for some bulkhead style airfitting adapters to mount air chucks cleanly on the heep and pickup. I had been using some line clamps to hold the chuck and hose on but I wasn't satisfied. After seeing Boyink convert a chuck and threaded hose adapter with some simple washers I started thinking about it again. I searched on the net and couldn't find anything, although I did get some ideas so I designed my own. Afterwards I found out Kilby enterprises sells some, although they do not include the hose adapter.

These are out of 3/4" hex brass stock. 1" might have been better. Still need to locate or make some washers.

I plan to mount one through the grill and one someplace in the rear. Will update with pics when I get a chance.

How about some lathe specs? Looks like the 7x10 sold at harbor freight.

 

Its actually an old jet 818 lathe. I've seen the exact same lathe marketed as something else though. Power feed broke right as I started this project. Dang plastic gears! Why would anyone use plastic gears on a lathe? I think the harbor freight mini-lathe might be a step up in quality, at least parts availability.

If I had access to a cnc lathe I could crank out a ton of these things.

it would take about 1.5 mins per one i bet. i made about 10K of those things last summer.
