    The first photo is a MD JUAN kit that does not include any of the drive train its most likely not more then 5years old. Nothing to do with WWII

    Sure about that ?. IIRC that's a fake kit someone put together about 10 years ago just to show what was involved & maybe win some show awards.

    The MD Juan crates do look a bit different but who knows?

    Great Uncle put jeeps together in Europe - they came in crates like the one Tom shows as I've seen pictures of him working on them in France.

    He got one shipped home after the war as he knew some guys at the depot... Not sure which base it was 'supposed to go to' in the end, but landed in Eastern Colorado for it's life.

    I think it would be a fun project to put together. When done you would have a MB that you could drive around and not worry too much if you scratch it. It would probably be pricey through since you need a frame and drivetrain plus a kit.

    Very interesting. Makes it even more attractive. Now to find a flat fender donor Jeep with a no good body...
