  1. Hello,
I would like to know if the base in the red circle is original (CJ5 1955)if it's original, someone knows where I can get it. and if it is not original, I would like to know how the original system is; Thanks!!

No problem, JP. We will struggle along with English if you can!

I think it's not original, and the original is just a rubber cap on the seat frame. However, this may be different for a 1955 model.

Hopefully someone here will know for sure on the 1955 model, but my later model CJ5's (68, 69, 71) all had a rubber tip on both passenger seat "legs" similar to the ones in the link below. If you do use those, good to put a snug-fitting 1" OD washer in the rubber tip before installing. It will keep the tube part of the leg from cutting through the tip over time.

    Nothing like that in 1956.

You mean the rubber tip or what the OP shows?

The OP's set up is nothing I've ever seen.

I have a '55, that is not original equipment.

Looks like a good idea though.

There was no passenger seat latch in '55 or for at least a few years later.

  9. doesnt have anything at all on mine (1961), might just be gone.

The passenger seat was an option, so it might never have been present.
