I know it's been done before, but I can't find any of the info or threads for people who have done a clutch fan swap on an F134. I seem to recall something about a Volvo(?) clutch being used... does anyone know what parts can be used or any other info?

I see that Hayden has come out with a low profile fan clutch...

I have a Volvo fan on the Dauntless, but IDK about a 4 cylinder...

Ah, that explains the volvo connection.

I used a Hayden #2765 clutch and a #3618 fan in a Bronco conversion. If I remember right it was a Volvo listing.

Stock Volvo 740 stuff, I figured it out a couple years back. Don't know the part numbers, but I used the clutch, fan, and shroud right off the volvo

I bought mine from another forum member here. I'm not sure of the application, but he did say it was Volvo. Honestly, it didn't change things much...my engine has always had a tendency to run warm, but this fan didn't make much difference.

A clutch fan isn't so much to run cooler it was originally for better mileage and to run quieter. I'm interested in quieting up my flex fan.

Would this Volvo setup work for an L head?

You can look up the Hayden part numbers I posted above and see the dimensions.

I am very interested to hear how much this conversion reduces engine noise, especially at higher rpms on the highway.

Is anyone who has done this talking about an F134 or have we drifted into Dauntless installs?

It's alot quieter, to my ear. But that's really a subjective thing.
