This is the state of my rear left side of the frame. I know I have to repair it but I'm unsure how to tackle it. I am inclined to replace the shackle hanger rather than re-sleeve it. Any ideas how to proceed other than fabbing sections and weld them together?

There may be replacement "frame horns" available from the aftermarket. Still require welding and reinforcing. Or originals could be cut off an old frame if, uhh, somebody had a couple of old frames laying around. Ahem. Cough. PM me if you want to me look around here a little.

I would look for replacement sections and just weld them in. You could piece it back together, but that would be alot of guess work. I know people have done it, and it can be done. If you section a frame, don't weld a straight line, make sure you Z notch it to spread the wealth and increase overall strength.
