Hello, I am changing my cylinder head gasket because one was broken in the cylinder 4 and 6, I wanted to know if you have your cylinder heads rectified when you do this, my 2 cylinder heads are very clean I have no marks on the joint plans, thank you

I would have them both resurfaced in the event of a head gasket failure.

An accurate straight-edge and feeler gauges can determine if heads are warped enough to need resurfacing.
Heads don't neccessarily need to be resurfaced for a head gasket repair. A severe overheat causing the head gasket failure usually will require the machine work.

+1. Measure the flatness. There is a specification in the manual.

I'm going to have the cylinder heads checked, the engine hasn't heated up, no smoke, in fact I realized because I had a blast in the passenger side exhaust and overconsumption of petrol, otherwise the jeep still worked well with the 4 cylinders :) culasse cj5.JPG

Have heads resurfaced. Have valve guides checked. Have the valves ground.

X2. This is, unfortunately, one of those "while I have it off" times. Be prepared to spend money, as most heads wind up needing more than a valve grind.

JMO - you don't need to surface unless the heads are warped. Measure. In my experience, shops will routinely recommend surface, needed or not. V6s heads are so short they are very unlikely to be warped. You need to check flatness though. Measure. Check flatness of the block deck too; both sides affect sealing.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

I'd have the head(s) checked and surfaced if necessary.
That particular head has been off before; factory head gaskets were all metal.

Just a comment - if your shop measures the head flatness and tells you that the heads do not need to be surfaced, they are honest to a fault. There is no up side for them not to recommend surfacing the head, and a clear down side. I have many times taken in customer's heads for evaluation, and the shop always recommended surfacing. Checking the head flatness yourself is easy - see the YouTube videos I linked.
