Replacement Top Not Needing Modifications

I need to get a replacement top for my 75 CJ5. Does someone make a top that doesn’t require any kind of modifications? I would like to use the existing snaps instead of add a rail system or something similar.

Bestop tiger top is the only one that is off-the-shelf with snaps. Not much chance the snaps will line up with the original, and the door hardware is not the same as it was back in the day.

My experience too. With my Tiger Top, some holes line up and some don't. AFAIK the Bestop Tiger Top (snaps) and Super Top (rails) are the only products available for the CJ-5, unless you want to find a custom shop that will make new fabric to fit.

IMO the super top is worth the extra expense and effort to install.

Installing a Best Top is no big deal. I have one on my 75..

+1 on the Super Top. The Tiger Top is all that's available for the CJ-6.

I installed a Tiger Top on a CJ6 and very few of the snap holes lined up even though the top was identical to the one I removed. It was a decent top though.

Another vote for super top. Much easier to stretch to the rails than each individual snap.

Yes , there is a Super top for Intermediate CJ5's. Again , that's what I've got pictured & it's only 3 years old.

Supertop on the cj5, Tigertop on the cj6. I like both of them. I like the Supertop best.

Thanks youall, The super top is my choice too. I wish we could still get the whitco tops like was installed on them when new. When I was a teen in 1973 and working at the local Jeep dealer my job was installing the Whitcos on the new jeeps and other dealer prep. After a little practice (20 or 30) installs I became quite good at it. I worked in the parts dept too, If someone bought a new top for their jeep I would offer to install it for them for 75 bucks after hours or at their house. Picked up lots of extra spending money that way. It usually would take about 2 hours to do all the alignment, drill all location holes and install top. Many times someone doing a self install would return and ask me to work on their top and straighten out the wrinkles :study:. I charged extra if I had to remove it and start over :bananatool:.
