My flywheel needs to be resurfaced. The 3 fingered pressure plate has badly worn fingers.

Would anyone suggest getting a Crown pressure plate and disc over some other brand?

I like the luk clutch kits.

V8 or inline 6? I prefer the diaphram type pressure plate. Crown doesn't make clutches, just re-brands them.

The others are probably fine, but those are the brands I recognize. Diaphragm type requires less effort, but the OEM style (Borg&Beck) is not particularly heavy in this application.

I just installed a Luk in my 72 with 304/T15. Went in easily (as easily as removing and re- installing a transmission can be). Only gripe I have is switching to the diaphragm type messed with the throwout bearing clearance. My throwout now rides on the pressure plate fingers. That’s not ideal, from what I’ve read since, and I would probably buy a new t/o bearing that gave better clearance instead of using the one from the kit if I did it again. I do like that it engages quickly at the bottom now instead of near the top of the pedal stroke.
