There is a small approx 1 1/2 concave rubber seal with the spindle seal set, can anyone tell me what direction it goes I took mine apart and it was previously installed by PO with convex inbound, open toward the differential case, I can’t trust why po has previously done because the bronze washers were in backwards when I took it apart

Assuming we're talking about the same part, my dana 30 was installed with the concave side facing outward, and seems to fit well that way. Screenshot_20200418-095244_Gallery.jpg

Looks like ours were both installed the same way....

The lip always points toward the side you want to seal. If there's no groove on the other side of the seal, I'd say the grooved side is the lip and it should go in.

I've done my hubs a couple times in the last year & had to ponder this also.
My way of thinking , is that the concave would face outward to go along with the taper on the spindle. Make's sense, eh ?
Anyway , that's what I have done , with no leaks.
In other words.....the wider side on the inside of the rubber seal would face towards the differential. When you put the Hub over the spindle the narrower side on the inside of the rubber seal would face outwards.
