Parts Numbers Help

Discussion in 'Early CJ5 and CJ6 Tech' started by johnny and sandy, Dec 17, 2019.

  1. Trying to find parts numbers for a 1963 CJ5.

Front brake cylinder, left and right.

    Front bearing seal.

They're really hard to find at the parts store out here in San Francisco California

I tried AutoZone no luck, O'Reilly's no luck Pep Boys no luck, Napa no luck

Napa had a listing but the part they ordered doesn't fit not even close to the original.

If it’s modified you got to figure out what you have first.

Stock parts are easy to find on Rock Auto.

and folks here can tell you a lot from a photo.

Willys part numbers for front cylinders are 803639 (L), 803640 (R), or 806041 (L), 806042 (R). The second set of numbers are for 1 1/8" cylinders.

Anytime I need a bearing or seal, I go to a local bearing store, take the old parts in, walk out with the correct replacements. There are alphanumeric markings and bearings and seals, preserve them if possible, usually just the original part is all that's necessary. Usually cheaper, too! YMMV Good luck!
