We were looking at adding a parking brake to our 68'. Reading the service manual and see that oura came with a transmission brake instead. The brake, drum and shoes are still on the transfer case but no cable or hand brake. Anybody know where to find one of these setups? Thanks in advance.

The hand brake can be hard to find, might post a "want to buy" thread on here.

Depending on how original your Jeep is, you could use a different handle or pedal to activate the transfer case mounted brake (TCMB).

Emergency/Parking Brakes for Hot Rods | Hotrod Hotline Lots of other material online too.

The cable works the same on the TCMB as with rear wheel brake types. Note that even on Jeeps that have all the original parts, the TCMB often is ineffective because the linings are soaked with oil from the transfer case. Oil on the linings means the lining does not hold, even if the mechanical part is working properly. Without careful assembly of the transfer case with the right parts and attention to the correct details, these transfer cases will leak. It's possible your PO gave up on the TCMB because it never worked effectively. To make the TCMB work both effectively and reliably may be a bigger project than you expect.

True enough. But the transmission brake on my '56 works fine, never been apart as far as I know..

Another that has never had a problem with the transfercase mounted brake. At least on my present two so equipped. Now my late father's FC 150 was a different story but then he didn't figure that was necessary equipment--------
