    here's the catch 22
T14 output is 10 spline . so OD is 10 spline also
you do the swap your going to be 6 spline on output shaft
going to need new bull gear for OD to work

I will ask the guys at Novak about that. They did not say anything like that when I called them about my setup and asked what exactly I need

Yes, the T-14 has 10 splines. You will need a new planetary gear for the overdrive that matches the spline count of the new main shaft for the SM420 (6 splines). Or, you could leave off the overdrive and use a 18-8-23 output gear that has 6 splines.

I originally desired a PTO winch until I learned about the limitations of such a system. If you do go and spend all that time and money getting a PTO winch setup together make sure you do your research first and decide it's what you want. I love old school tech and I did want a PTO very badly but after looking at the pros and cons I wound up going electric.

going electric is good for short use
PTO will work all day long . unless engine gives out

I’ve been taking peeks at it all day. It’s kinda growing on me. That part of me is saying yes, paint it and put it on your bumper!:twist:

I have the AA adapter, unused, for an SM420/dana 18. It is the type that replaces the whole shaft. I don't know if it is acceptable to post prices and personal contact info in this forum. please PM me here.

The 8074 was an interim winch between the more or less current 8274 and the older Warn 5687 (also referred to as Warn 6000) The Warn 5687 is a duplicate of the Bellvue winch that Warn purchased I have working examples of all 3 in the basement

I found a local who had a rebuilt SM420 with the 10 spline spud adapter for $300. I’m picking it up on Tuesday. Looks like I’ll have something to do this winter.

She’s ready to go in! Just dropped off my drivelines this morning. I’ll have it installed tomorrow night. A2231122-48EB-4AD3-8374-8BB334CE1D6B.jpeg 340D7720-C3A0-40D8-B2CC-97A3A2351CAC.jpeg

Since the t14 was a 10 spline output I swapped the main input gear to a 6 spline 18-8-23 (29 tooth). I’ll be running without the O.D. for now. At least until I can afford one. I have the transmission in position under my Jeep right now I just need to align it and slide it into position. My drivelines are done And they look amazing.

You don't need a whole new od, just need to replace the planetary hub with a 6 spline version. I bought one from Advance Adapter for about $300.
It does require a complete teardown of the overdrive unit though.

Well... in the last month I’ve put in about $900 into my Jeep and it’s getting to be Christmas time so I have to get some money built up to buy some gifts for my parents.
