69 Only Hood Mounted Reflectors

I am confused. I understand that the hood mounted reflectors were a 69 model year only. Then someone says they also were on 70's models. Since they seem to be almost impossible to acquire and also seem to be in some demand, would it be better to finds a kind soul that would let you make a copy with the new technology of printing one out of plastic or make a copy by using a block of plastic and a milling machine. I don't think the reflector would be that hard to locate but the mounting base seems unobtainable. What do you guys think?

I guess I am also wondering if anyone has any info about when they were actually used? It is the first thing I look for in pictures of an early CJ-because they are all about 50 years old and lots of things have been added to and subtracted from the old workhorses, it is almost impossible to tell if it is really a 69 (or maybe that is not really valid).

My 69 built in early 69 and titled in late 69 had the holes in the hood, but reflectors were missing. I welded up the holes......

The reflector part looks pretty generic - maybe it has a Grote number or? I'd think the base would be straightforward to reproduce. PCV block and machining, or 3D printing as suggested above.

Cap-n-Cray Thanks for the info and the offer. When you say they are different side to side-What do you mean. Not interchangeable? Why? Sorry if I sound like I don't have a clue, but I thought you could just move side to side by flipping one side over. WestCoastPat

Any chance someone has a 3D printer to be able to make these?

There is a right side and a left side. I've seen them installed on the wrong side a couple of times...

I'm assuming the curvature of the hood is the culprit. There isn't a flat, vertical area.
