When it comes to a full roll cage, do most of you build your own, buy the build kits, or have someone build them for you? Looking to change ours out and debating having the existing modified, buying a new build kit and having a welder come out to make the connection, or just have one custom made. I am sure the cost can vary quite a bit. We are learning to weld but this is not something we feel comfortable with yet. We are in the Denver area, if you guys know of fabricators that can help out. Thanks in advance.

Lots of Jeep and buggy shops around you that are competent. I’d figure around $2K to build a cage in 1-5/8” or 1-3/4” DOM.
If you are up for a drive to Texas, Dave at Brave Motorsports does fantastic work. Im sure people here can chime in on local guys in your area doing great work also - Colorado IS the Mecca for wheeling.
Google image “max-bilt CJ5” it’s grey, has beadlocks and 35s, sitting on a beach. I really dig the cage in that 5.
If I were to put a cage in my 5, it will be done in my garage with 1-5/8” .120 crew or DOM and modeled after that max-bilt 5 cage. But I already have the bender, dies, tube, etc. if I had to buy all that to do one cage, I’d just farm it out to competent builder.

Do you know anyone who races at Colorado National Speedway? If so, they can point you to a chassis builder that could build a cage for you.

I’d recommend not going to D&C in the Springs. I know you’re looking for help, but I feel as though I’m doing so by suggesting you don’t go there. Not a real knowledgeable staff anymore. They’ve got an early CJ5 cage kit... I designed it a while back. Can’t say the owner would get it done right for you though.

I might recommend Brucker Brothers (Brucker Brothers) out of Longmont area - I realize that isn't right in Parker area, but he does good work. He is a member of the local 4wd club I run with and would be the first choice I would make to do something on my jeep. He can travel to your location, or you can take it to him - guessing that would affect the cost. I don't guarantee that he will give you a discount for dropping my name, but he generally gives a bit of a discount to our club members (FR4x4) and its worth a shot. He is a old toyota truck/truggy guy, but he will appreciate any old iron.
