OK Folks, here is the dilemma:

I have a '48 CJ2A, painted Solar Yellow with a black Bestop Tigertop on it.

No lift, (other than that which a fresh set of 'stock' springs bring to the table) and a set of 31x10.5x15 AT tires. I'm running the stock "C-type" shackles and stock Dana 41/25 axles @ 5:38:1 with a fresh (less than 100 miles) L-134 and T-90 w/ a Husky OD.

Here's my question: I currently have my BFG Radial Long Trail tires mounted on white Cragar wagon-wheels. I also have a nice set of 5 "stock-type" OEM wheels that I intend to use ASAP. They have been sandblasted, primed and painted a purty gloss-white color. With a stock-looking flatty like mine and 31x10.50 tires on it, would you go for the outline white-letters mounted outward or inward? I can't decide.

I make no bones about my Jeep, it is a stocker/restification piece. A 30-foot Jeep to be sure, when you take into consideration my driveway paint-job. Do the white-letters make a big difference?

I agree... on your rig Steve, the blackwall to the outside will look best. :)

Blackwalls. OWLs are for kids, or for SUV grocery-getters.

Thanks guys, that's the way I was leaning too. Planning to use a small brush and some tire black to try and paint over just the letters, rather than just slopping the whole inside sidewall. I really hate the look of tire black after it's been on a while, but in this case I think it's the way to go.

To look stock, definitely black outside. But, with yellow white letters would probably look pretty good. Problem with most tires is the letters are usually too big and look gawdy.

Sounds like a great jeep. Post a picture of it sometime we would like to see it.

I would put the letters on the inside.

If BFG would pay you to advertise their tires you could put them out. But we all know they won't, so put them on the inside.
