I don't think the widetrack came in a cj5, it did the cj7 but if it was out of a cj5 it should work, spring perches are probably a little bigger but that won't hurt anything.

it came from a 7. but this 7 was a 79. guess someone had already done one axle swap on that jeep before the scout 44s went underneath of it. the perches were no bigger so i guess that it is a narrow trac.

81 was the last year of the NT in CJ7s.
Conventional thinking is that all CJ5s through the end of production in 1983 were NT... but at least one FACTORY WT CJ5 has been touched by our membership... Nickmil worked on an '83 CJ5 with factory WT axles.

IIRC, frame rail spacing in the front didn't change throughout the whole CJ run, whether NT or WT, so perches should be centered at the same spot. Perch width may vary from the 1 3/4 to the 2" style.

Spring perches are the same. I did a NT to WT swap to keep the tires off the springs. You could have an 81 NT with 5 bolt hubs.

yeh i guess i could. well when i put the fenders on i guess i will know what i have. i think i might be one of the few jeep people who says i dont want wt axles.

I had an 82 Cj7 bought new, worked with a guy at the same time had an 82 cj7 his had wt axles mine didn't. His was six mine a four. Back then couldn't figure why they would be different, just knew I liked the way his looked better than mine. ;)
