Trying to finish up wiring under the dash, and I have a wire hanging near the heater motor that I assume is a ground. There is a screw that was taped to the wire but I can't find a spot where screw would fit on the metal section of the housing. If anyone has messed with the wiring under their dash I would sure appreciate some help with this.

Is it a Hex drive screw ? If so, It goes in the fan motor mount on the outside of the " Banjo " . At least mine did.

Thanks, but it is a regular phillips screw that is there now. I'm not sure what you mean by the Banjo?

Sorry , I had just done a new heater core in my '75 CJ5. I had found the same wire , & it was a ground for my heater control wiring. The Banjo is the housing that has the duct doors & the fan motor mounts to it.
Your Jeepster may be different than my CJ ?

I believe it gets grounded on the dash panel near the cigar lighter. At least that's where it goes on mine. I'm not sure you can get a ground on the heater box itself.

Both of you guys are great! I think it will reach to the area next to the cig lighter. Many thanks to both of you!

Turns out the heater motor was clocked the wrong way. Once I pulled the motor housing off and turned the motor the wiring reached under the dash with no problems. Thanks
