"jeep" Stamping On The Cowl Side

The topic was brought up in the classified section, "ebay and craigslist" for a '74 that is for sale.
The subject came up regarding the lower case "eep" used on intermediates as opposed to all capital letter used up to 1971.
My question is, when did the position of the letters move? 1972 and 1973 have the letters higher up on the side, similar to the early JEEPs. 1975-later Jeeps have the letters low on the cowl, just about even with the door opening. I have seen 1974s both ways. I assume this was a transition year? Who has '74s, and are your letters high or low?

My '75 has them low. Both types appear in the parts book for '74 replacement panels, with a footnote. They are distinguished by the height of the letter "J", 1.5" tall for the higher early type, then 2" tall for the later, lower style.

If I May chime in here. I believe that also the " J " had the bar over it until '75 . It became a plain 'J ' , no bar, after '74 ?

I remember being part of a discussion on this on another forum. A few people chimed in with Canadian-built jeeps, and they threw a definite wrench in the timeline with versions that we didn't see till later. I can't remember what forum. Maybe do a google search?

Was there a Canadian plant? And when?

Edit: The more I think about this, it might've been a later, "Jeep" vs. "Joop" discussion.
