    Can anyone advise me on whether there’s a snap ring that goes around the bottom of the steering shaft in the base of the steering box where the horn wire tube goes?

    No, no snap ring- the tube/disk are a press fit.

    I know the wire tube/disk press fit, I’m wondering if a snap ring goes around the end of the steering wheel shaft where it drops though the bottom bearing race. Apologies if I wasn’t clear about that.
