I have been (slooowly) patching up my corroded tub floors and I have a question. After you are done spot welding and grinded to look acceptable, for us that are not master welders there is always a couple of pin holes around. Should I keep on welding on tip or is there a filler I can use to make it look clean and even? Thanks!

Best practice is to make a bunch of spots till it’s welded solid.

A thick enough paint/primer could “fill in” pin holes.

you could fill little ones with seam sealer on one side and paint or undercoat on the other

Thank you all! As ITLKSEZ wisely said, I liked some answers more than others, but I appreciate them all the same. On some cases, like outside body panels I will weld some more until it fills up as much as possible (is a jeep!), on the less noticeable like the floorboards and transmission tunnel I will use some filler. Which one would you suggest, sterlclan?

I have backed up holes with a piece of copper and then welded them shut, helps a lot to pretty up my welds...

In some instances I will flow brazing (brass) into gaps and crevices to permanently reinforce partial welds. But it means you can't weld that area again.

For floors I would use 3m seam sealer it is a little pricey but worth it. For outside start with water proof filler then. Regular bondo.
