    Yes, the same in my barn. It was a farm and yes this "whitewash" was also protecting the cattle. It took me time to remove this coat with a Karcher but there is no replacement on the market, except painting. My barn is 1909 but the house is older, firt part is end XVIII th cy.
    It is quite difficult to make it new, we quite succeed with the help of local pros but I keep electricity work for myself, because it is so complex to make modern systems with everywhere wood parts, plain walls... It is our retirement house.

    How do you make whitewash?
    Mix the whitewash.
    1. Mix 2 cups of salt with 1 gallon of warm water and stir to dissolve the salt.
    2. Add 6 to 8 cups of hydrated lime to the salt water.
    3. Mix well until the lime is dissolved.
    4. The mixture should be thinner than traditional paint.

    Thanks Howard. I wanted to say that there is no modern ready equivalent, we must use the old recipe... which is perfect indeed.

    Thank you! The wheels are stock 15x5.5 steel wheels sandblasted down and repainted Rustoleum Gloss Antique white (or something along those lines, it’s an off white) and the tires are 30x9.50-15 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM3
