Im looking for a good high amp solenoid i can use to control the old bellieview, not a fan of the knife switch.

i want to run power through the solenoid and contol the winch with a toggle switch in the cab

it will still only be powered in

I would recommend you consider not using a toggle switch but rather a momentary switch (ie. push button type). It will be easier to control the winch and less likely to accidently activate the winch. Also add a disconnect in series with the solenoid switch to assure the winch isn't accidently activated. Something like this:

Battery Master Disconnect Kill Switch Marine Ems Racing Cole Hersee

i should have been more specific, i didnt mean an off / on toggle, i have one of the momentary ones, like in the older warn controls, i am using

I am going the same route as you with my Belleview, only I was thinking key switch to power the momentary so I could keep power off when I wasn't around.

I just wired my in dash controls. A safety-covered toggle switch powers a push button momentary switch that engages the 200 amp continuous duty solenoid for the bellvue. I'm happy with it so far...but haven't really needed to winch yet. Is a 200 amp relay enough?

This is the one I've used with my Belleviews.
Cole Hersee 24213 Continuous Duty SPST Solenoid
Also 200 amp continuous but suspect it can withstand twice that for a short period. The one on my 3B has been on there for a couple of decades and has never had any problems.

Post a pic of your dash control, sounds I doubt the original switch control was rated for that!

Headed out on an overnight hike...will post a pic in the coming days of the controls. Its all aftermarket stuff. Like duffer, I also use the Cole Hersee 200 amp relay (continuous duty solenoid) to engage the winch. And I've run 2/0 welding cable connected directly to a dual battery set-up. The dash switch/switches only engage/turn-on the 200a solenoid, which i'd imagine, to engage, draws 3-5 amps at most. My dash switches are rated to 25 amps.

    I'd recommend an Albright contactor.
