Ohm Meter

    Triplett is a good meter, similar to the Simpson.

    Analog meters are good for monitoring variable AC signals in real time. The digital meters take some time to convert and settle, while the analog meter gives you an average reading even as the signal changes.

    These meters are quite devoid of features compared to modern digital meters. And they are pretty darn big compared to a digital meter. I expect it'd be good to have one on your bench if you work on electrical or electronic equipment.

    Food for thought...

    For automotive work I picked up an old engine analyzer on ebay- does volts, amps, ohms, dwell, condenser, tach & spark.

    I would want to own all of them.

    The Allied also came with a left-handed set of cables :coffee:They should have made the meter deflect from right to left too!

    I have the Sears unit, bought new in 1976-77.
    It’s nearly identical, although the colors are slightly different.

    Been a run on alligator clips here in Calif at most FLAPS. Not sure the stores were ready fir the hit on their supply.
