I ran across this fine specimen that was sold at an online dealership. Gone now, but the photos remain in a vast quantity; about 80 total. I saved them and they are about 1600x1080--figured they might be good for reference...

In that vein, I thought it would be fun to have our members critique this one for authenticity. Be great if it was near 100% to serve as a baseline for reference purposes.

Only things I notice are the springs & rear x-member/brace.

Definitely beautiful paint job! Single stick t-case shifter definitely modified big time. Choke cable should have been replaced with an original style, knob should say choke. Rear crossmember looks replaced but not with original style. Rear springs are too short....big mistake and kinda dangerous in my mind. Not sure on the vacuum wipers, but I believe they should be individual electric motors. There was a recent thread about this subject. Handle on dash not correct.

nice, hate to own as I would not feel comfortable driving it, for fear of scratching or getting dirty.
Is the single windshield prop correct? Is it the correct type?

Tailgate stencil, flat fender style. No side steps. No windshield tie down strap & hood catch. Is it me,or does the body lean to the right?

Looks like it has an upgraded steering box to Saginaw. It has headers and dual exhaust. I didn’t see a vacuum hose to the distributor.

It’s a sweet looking ride but if it’s not an original restoration to be preserved, I don’t understand the point of modifying it.

aftermarket seats . missing bolt on left windshield latch . shifter sticker wrong . single stick with I would guess overdrive
didn't see the parking brake handle
over all looks to be a nice jeep . but way more than I would want to pay

    Don't believe the silver/gray is a 1967 color--perhaps that's Olive Mist, but it looks silver/gray.

Edit: I'll suppose I have inaccurate color--

I spent a decade chasing trophies on the antique British motorcycle circuit. I won my share of trophies but got burned out on the "This nut should be cadmium plated not chrome" and "This fuel line should have a half curve and the ferrel should be nickle plated" sort of stuff. After that part of my life I have not owned a perfectly restored anything again.

The Jeep posted is just what I want my 67 to look like like when I am done (cept red:sneak:) , will it be 100 pts, hell no but close enough for me. My not yet very well trained 67 CJ eye spots a number things wrong but I really love the stark look of a paired down, no top no roll bar, mostly original mid 60's CJ5.

I noticed the lean and was not certain it was not parallax from the camera so did not list it. My inet is slow and never got past the exterior pics.

Tackiest thing though is the rear leaf springs.....how could the installer not notice they are too short?

Says SOLD now. I like it a lot but, I would hesitate to describe it as a restoration by my definition. Rebuilt and restored are 2 different things in my book. Sure is pretty and with a few good upgrades.

Not sure what your looking at that shows the springs too short but they appear to be wider then stock leaf.

That is the whole reason I have Jeeps is to get away from the phrase "it has the wrong _______" There is no such thing as a wrong part on a Jeep. It may not be original stock but it will never be "wrong" on a Jeep. The whole being of a Jeep is that it is easily modified and in most cases made much better then the original design. Jeep more then any other OEM was always terribly behind the curve in technology. Running an F head, Ross steering and a non synchro first gear T90 all the way till 1971 shows just how ridiculously behind the times that Jeep was. Terms like "restoration" and "original" mean many different things to many people. From day one while testing the prototypes in 1941, the military altered and changed things almost daily and Jeep has evolved ever since. We enjoy the aftermarket support only dreamed of by most OEMs in Jeeps because of this even 75 years later.

If you look at the first picture straight from the side it shows the tire too far forward in the wheel well and the shackle is pretty much straight up and down with a hint of actually projecting forward. It should have the same angle towards the back as the front shackle does towards the front. As you mention the springs are wider and appear to have a little bit of an arch to them.
