My speedometer bezel looked really awful, so I removed it and repainted it. I was getting ready to put it back on and thought it was a pity the rest of the speedo looked great but the pointer was all bleached out...
So, does anybody have any advice for repainting the needle?
I was thinking a small airbrush rig and some fluorescent orange paint, but if somebody knows a rattle-can or paint code, that would be great.

    thanks,

I haven't check, but there is probably a fluorescent orange rattle can in the model paints at Hobby Lobby or your local hobby shop.

I would think it has to be lite no matter what you choose.

I bought some fluorescent orange for this purpose in a bottle at my local Michael's craft store. Air brush paint. Just use a brush with a 3x5 card behind the needle as masking. The air brush paint is thin, and needed a few coats. I don't think you'll be able to tell the difference between brushed-on and sprayed-on for this application.

My original orange paint flaked off in one piece so I’m digging the chrome needle.

I just took a 8x11 sheet of paper and cut a slit from the middle of one side and cut to the center. Slid the slit under the needle to the pointer shaft. Overlapped the two ends at the slit to close the gap in the slit to stop over spray. Or put an extra piece of paper under the slit to stop any spray through. Isprayed it with SPECIAL PURPOSE Krylon Flourescent 3102 yellow orange. Also did the fuel and Temp pointers at the same time. Looks good to me. Did mine a few years ago and still looks good.

Used orange paint and a brush. Looks fine. Seems to work. As someone said, very light coats and don't build.
