My opinion - the T-150 does not help you. Using it creates more problems than it solves.

    yes , it s what i see !!

loosing a good dana 44 for an amc20 ... bad idea (for me )

and found an amc in france = a joke !!!

i think the better way is = novak kit (or home made) for my t90 to join the dauntless and is bell housing

or if i want a new gear box = use the the t98 that i have in my garage , like that i have a 4 speed (except , if it s one with the very low 1st gear ) = did i way another ******** ??????

I also agree that the T150 will create many additional problems.

You should definitely consider your Borg Warner T98 transmission.
There were many makes and versions of this transmission.
First concern is to measure the STICK OUT" length of maindrive gear (input shaft).
Also measure diameter and spline count of the maindrive gear.

He should be able to help you find the correct input shaft for your original T90 and he ships internationally.

Post a picture of your T-98. That would be a good choice, if it's from a Jeep.

Ya know, owners put the Ford T-18, GM SM420 or SM465 in J-trucks on occasion. The Ford input shaft is about 6" shorter than the Jeep T-18 input, and the shifter really comes up under the dash. The solution is to use a torch and bend a dog leg in the shifter stalk and cut a new hole in the floor. Works fine, looks a little odd. The same approach would work with the T-90C, as long as the owner did not require a factory appearance. It would also require modifying the transfer case shifter, cross member position, and drive shaft lengths. But those are all issues that could be worked out ...

    i know there are modifications , if i use the t98 .

it was on cj5 founded in a junkyard . it was with a peugeot diesel engine = adapter . but at the origin , the gs was a fuel engine

More work to shift the T-98. The T-90 is much easier to shift.

Final drive ratio (top gear) is the same for both transmissions, 1:1. No difference in top speed between them.

I am adapting the t-98 into my 1969 CJ. I have the dauntless v6 and also had the mated d-18 transfer case as well (I put the t-14 and original d-18 in the shed), take a peek at my build thread. I think a wild guess on weight of the t98 and D-18 (and overdrive also in mine) is around 100kg +/-

I am not planning on speed shifting, so a longer / slower 'time' moving from gear to gear is ok. The T-98 is a heavy duty transmission (used here in big trucks and also in forestry equipment).

The T-98 is a L, 2,3,4, R pattern shifter, you normally drive using 2, 3, 4 and R. L is for slow navigation, not so much for daily driving on paved roads.

I bought the bearing/rebuild kits from Novak to rebuild the T-98 and D-18. Erik at Novak was very helpful with answering specific parts questions, and providing other detailed answers I did not have or find here on this site.

    1) i ve recieved my bell housing for v6 from us , thanks to this forum !!!(y)(y)(y)

    2) when my friend gave me the t98 , there was a bell housing with it . this bell housing has been modified for an old peugeot engine .

and to adapt t98 to the bell , there was an adapter .

but when i look at this modified bell , it looks like a bell for t90 : is there some one that confirm me :

why i ask this question : a mad idea :D:D:D

if it fits a t90 , cutting this modified bell housing and use the part to creat an adpater (pieces of metal , welding , etc ). like a slice of bread under the 4 threads

yes , i know , i m crazy but my buget is so skinny :mad:

Yes that is the standard Jeep bellhousing from a Hurricane F-134 engine.
As you know it fit directly to your T98-A front bellhousing adapter plate.
And Yes it directly accepts the various Jeep T 90 transmissions.
But not but International Harvester or other makes of T90.

Your Borg Warner T98-A transmission would be a very quick and easy sell here in the U.S.

so , if i understand you , i can try to make an adapter from this bell housing for my t90 jeep .

i ll keep my t98 and perhaps one day

    thank you
