Time to replace the old Turbo mufflers, center in and center out. V-6 powered CJ2A with headers and side dumps. Would appreciate your thoughts on what brand to go with. On this page because there are more V-6s in CJ-5s than CJ2As

I put Flow masters on mine. Offset in and out, which I like. Made of some thick metal so they can take some abuse. But,they are pretty loud. I used to like it but as I get older, I like the noise less and less.

On summits website, you can select your inlet/outlet size and location, then see all the different options. Many different lengths, width, thickness options.

I used to like it too.

But as I get older, I can hear less and less. :(

That is what I run. The PO ran 2 1/2" diameter and I thought they where to loud. I installed 2" and they where defiantly quieter. I did not care for the look of the smaller tube so I ended up buying some 2 1/4". You can hear the difference between the two diameter tubing.

Mine isn't stainless. Do they make them?

I put Borla 304 stainless mufflers on my 3B. If you wash off the grime, still as shinny as the day I installed them. Just a low rumble unless you put your foot in it.

I like the those muffler guards. They look strong enough to be sliders. Can we see some more shots of them? I have Flowmasters on mine from the PO in the same location. They sound awesome when you want them to, but are a bit too loud cruising down the road.

RATTYFLATTY I think you need a little more throttle

I run a single Cherry Bomb Turbo(offset in centered out)with stock manifolds. It fits perfectly behind the T-case on the pass side inside the frame rail. Nice and quiet. Best part, $25 at Fleet Farm.

I also fabbed something similar to these for my mufflers mounted to the frame and integrated to the roll cage.. These are a lot prettier though!

Anyhow, as stated above, Flowmaster is the way to roll... I used 40 series delta flows and had great luck.. At one time I went sidepipes and it killed my bottom end power..

Personally, I'd be looking for the quietest muffler for my stock 58 F134. That helps me to enjoy the scenery without distractions. At 61 I'm finding I prefer less noise, where as when I was a youngster I liked uncapped headers on my 68 GTO (which may explain some of my hearing loss at this age). Now I can make a 9 hour drive by myself without ever turning on the radio. Just peace and quiet.
