Do I really need them? I had to buy omix ones because I couldn't find anything else. I'm having interference issues with the shields and my new rotors. Every time I torque the spindle nut to 50 ftlbs then back off an 1/8 everything is locked up. I did some tin snip surgery and I can get about 50% rotation but unless I bfh it to death its going to be a no go. Or do I have another problem like the new rotors need turned ( import trash, runout?)

Try it without the shield and see if you get better results, I don't run any shields on my pick up but it doesn't go off road.

usually they are rusted off in these neck of the woods. they do serve a purpose other than deflecting dust. they funnel air to the rotors to help cool them off as well.

I have never put mine on when I did my swap...that was almost 8K miles ago (including off-road time in mud and rocks)...all is well.

i've got over 100K miles on mine without the shields, so there is that. plenty of wheeling in those miles, too.

I don't run the shields either. Just more crap to get bent and hold in rocks and mud.

Post surgery. Still protects the inner hub, no interference issues

Good idea. Protects the seal but won't catch gravel.
