I never wait. My wife says there will always be another deal...She's right, but I don't listen.

I'd buy the Engo before I would buy the Smitty...Me personally.;)

    I trust you.

I need to stop window shopping and go paint my Jeep!

Ramsey worm drive winches are good as are the industrial winches. I've seen failures with the Patriot series.
Bottom line folks, with winches you do get what you pay for. I'd rather see someone have a good come along and save their money until they can purchase a good winch. When you need a winch you need to be able to rely on it. Maybe I've been in unique situations, I don't know, but I've seen so many failures of budget winches that the only thing I might recommend them for is a utility trailer.
I also consider parts availability and support of the product as part of the purchase price.

From everything I've read, Engo has fantastic customer service and parts availability (for now at least). That said, I'm about ready to pull the trigger on the M8000S. ;)

Yeah, definitely pay it off....don't carry a balance. I know all too well from first hand experience the evils of that.

It's definitely a tough choice, but yeah known reliability is tough to turn down. ;)

2hrs round trip from me. I'm sure I could clean it up and make it look almost new.

Would be about 3 months but would be willing to do it when school is out. If they are willing to receive me I'd love to check them out. Honestly we need more quality winch products on the market. I wish the cheap crap would just go away. It's more dangerous than anything. I've watched the planetary gears literally blow out the side of the housing on one "budget" winch. When that happens the brake doesn't work. Fortunately the Jeep didn't go over the cliff...

Just asked about manufacturing. He said made in China to their strict specs.

3,000 lb rating is good for an ATV. Definitely not enough for a side by side or Jeep. Don't fall into the trap.
