Arrghh. Looks like I need a new clutch and pressure plate. Problem is my pressure plate is balanced with the entire rotating assembly. The balance is stamped on the plate. Anyone have any idea what it would cost to get a new one balanced to match? Should I bother? Dad spent a lot of $$ to get this thing all balanced and blueprinted when it was rebuilt - I hate to be cheap - but it's not like it's a real smooth high RPM motor anyhow.

The hole where I throw my money is deeper than it looked.

    michigan_pinstripes I'm not lost, I'm wandering

Huh, I never considered that! In theory, yeah it's part of the rotating assembly --balance it. Reality? Naw, not for what you are using it for.

Every motor I've gotten balanced (OK - both motors I've gotten balanced - not including this one - Dad did this one :D ) has included the pressure plate.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

way back when I balanced my F4, just took the flywheel to them
I think all clutches are balanced before they leave the building
you are talking about balancing p/plate to the motor ?
news to me for engines below 5000 rpm
