Ramsey Winch Question

My thoughts as well though the design of the gears might determine a lot. But all good feedback and I'll be able to take a look at it next week (also bearing in mind Daryl's past observation that there's not much demand for these things and consequently he's found it difficult to get a decent price for them)

 

turn winch around pull short shaft with worm gear and swap around. (There is a small cap on the front now which gets swapped as well.)
