Did factory rear seat have seatbelts?

Did the factory option rear seat for early and intermediate CJ's have seatbelts? If so, does anyone know where they attached?

 

Yes.

Can't show you a pic - our server is down for maintenance of the building power. There are threaded holes in the floor, just like for the front seats. The holes are there regardless of whether the seat is installed or not.

Doug, do you pics of the buckles and the rest of the belts? No retractors I assume?

 

No retractors on the factory belts.
My belts are aftermarket replacement, but those are the stock mounting points.

 

What year did those come about? Can't imagine my '56 came with ANY belts.

 

Certainly NOT on the truly "Earlies."

The PO on my '57 used to tie the kids in with rope.

 

Sometime in the 60's, there was a federal law mandating seat belts.
I remember my '65 GTO had front seat belts, but not rear.

 

No the early ones did not have seatbelts installed front or rear from factory. as you can see by the pictures of my original NOT modified 1959 cj5 there are no holes for seatbelts

 

I seem to recall my '68 SS396 Chevelle having seat belts too. I think just in the front as well. Long time ago.
