Lift kit

    Hey I couldn't find any posts specifically about this but would a later cj5 lift kit fit onto a early cj5 like normal or would you have to custom it a bit? I am trying to find a 4 inch lift kit for my '66 cj5a

    Late CJ5's use 2" wide springs front, and 2.5" wide springs rear. Gonna be a little custom.

    And you may have to fool with the steering geometry. My 2A was lifted about 4.5" (SOA) and I had some bump steer issues.

    And hopefully you have enough travel in the drive shaft that it will work at full extension of the suspension. My 2A needed a longer drive shaft.

    I have since removed the lift (SOA) and gone back to stock.

    Doesn't Skyjacker make a 4" kit for the early CJ's? maybe BDS too?
