I have a 67' with a factory Dauntless :v6: and the much maligned T-86. I have the opportunity to purchase a rebuilt T-14 for a reasonable price, BUT the T-14 is from a 72' CJ and is married to a D-20 transfer case. From the Novak site, I know that the pilot tip changed from early to late with early being 19/32" and late being 3/4". Bottom line is that I would like to use this transmission in my Jeep -- with the D-18 -- and I would like to know if its reasonably possible and, if so, what issues would I encounter.

i dont know about input shaft but the input gear of the t-case will need to be changed from 6 spline to 10 spline. they are extremely difficult to find used but are available new. i dont know if the d-20 gear will work

The input shaft length is different not just the pilot. Like was said, the transfer case input gear will need changed as well, and the 20 gear will not work. Wrong pitch and tooth count.
This can be done, but the modifications needed are the same as the T-15 so if you were going to do this it would make more sense to step up to the much stronger T-15.
You can do this also by changing the input shaft, cluster gear, and iirc 2nd speed gear as the tooth counts are different between the I-6 version and the V-6 version.

Sounds like a non-starter. I guess I should keep looking for the right T-14 version.
